A portrait of Virginia Woolf, whom I admire very much as a person and an artist. Her struggles with being a woman and a writer in a man's world, as well as her long, long struggles with depression paint a portrait of a tormented soul.

The background was created using a piece from Spektoral Addendum at T4L and some original textures I made.
The rest was done with brushes, layer styles, filters and blending modes.
